Bienvenue au Lycée

Join us in person at the Lycée to learn more about the Lycée's Nursery/PS - Y12/Terminale academic program. The Lycée combines the best of French education and the energy of NYC. Our international student body is supported by creative faculty that are native to the subjects they teach and nurture emerging talents in each student. They care deeply about fostering an open exchange of ideas that encourages growth in many directions. Rigorous preparation combined with an emphasis on discovery opens a world of opportunity to our students who will be the next generation of thinkers, innovators and leaders, at home in the world. -
Primary Overview
18 October 2022 at 6:00pmJoin us in person at the Lycée to learn more about the Lycée's Nursery/PS - Y5/CM2 program. Our approach to bilingual instruction supports students in developing critical thinking skills and moving our students from concrete observations to abstract reasoning, a fundamental element of the French Curriculum.Beginning in Y1/CP, classroom instruction takes place 80% in French and 20% in English, with students engaging in French, history, science and math with their French homeroom teacher, who is paired with an native English-speaking teacher for English and special projects.Language development is at the core of our primary school. In order to become bilingual, children need to experience the many dimensions of language (listening, speaking, reading and writing) in both languages in a motivating, reassuring environment that makes sense to them. We look at bilingualism as its own language and not merely the combination of learning both at the same time. -

We will share details about our teachers, the philosophy and goals of the program, the structure of the school year/day, and how the program will evolve to support your child in Y2/CE1 and beyond. -
