Cultural Events

The Cultural Center of the Lycée Français de New York offers a rich and diverse program of events related to French and Francophone cultures.

Movie Nights

On the first Wednesday of the month, the Cultural Center screens free movies for students, families, neighbors and friends. Movies are critically-acclaimed, carefully selected French and Francophone films with English subtitles, often in their first run. Screenings often include live conversations with film directors and actors.

Concerts

Twice a year, the Cultural Center welcomes performers of jazz, classical and world music and dance with one criterion: quality. The Lycée has welcomed musicians from around the Francophone world including Francis Cabrel, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Yseult, and Angélique Kidjo.

Conférences

An extension of encounters for students during the school day, the Cultural Center offers evening panels and talks on contemporary topics covering such areas as politics, climate change, racial justice, science, psychology, sports and business.  Past daytime and evening speakers include Rokhaya Diallo, Esther Duflo, Joseph E. Stiglitz, and Jeffrey Sachs.
