MOVIE NIGHT - SPECIAL SCREENING - Al Jarreau l'enchanteur (2016), with panel discussion
Cultural Center Event
A year before Al Jarreau's death on February 12, 2017, this documentary retraces his exceptional career in African-American music. The artist was used to juggling genres, and his discography swung between jazz, pop and R&B. First appearing on the scene in the 1970s, this son of a pastor and a pianist from the Seventh Day Adventist Church didn't take long to be considered one of the most original vocalists of his time.
Screening followed by a Q&A with Yasmina Jaafar, journalist and author of the book "Ils ont choisi la France" This event is organized in partnership with French in Motion.
