Et si New York s'appelait Angoulême

FIAF French Institute Alliance Française, 22 E 60th St #1077, New York, NY 10022, USA
When the Italian explorer Verrazzano became the first European to visit New York, he named the region “Angoulême” in honor of François 1er of France, former count of Angoulême. Based on research by a Lycée teacher of the 1940s, Jacques Habert. With a few familiar faces, including Damien Renon, our head librarian; Pascale Richard, director of Cultural Events, and Elisabeth King, Director of Communications.
