    Position Summary
    The Business Office Associate plays a critical role at the intersection of customer service and accounting. This position supports a broad range of financial operations, with an emphasis on student billing, payments, financial aid processing, and reconciliation. The Associate serves as a primary point of contact for families regarding billing and financial inquiries, requiring a strong blend of technical accounting skills and a customer-centered mindset.
    The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced, multicultural environment. They must also demonstrate empathy, discretion, and professionalism in all communications with families and internal departments. Additional hours may be required during peak seasons (e.g., enrollment, year-end closing).

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    Duties and Responsibilities of the Business Office Associate include, but are not limited to:

    Billing and Payments
    • Respond to billing, payment, and balance inquiries from families
    • Monitor and Report aging balances monthly and follow up with families as needed 
    • Assist with annual creation and maintenance of charges and discounts in subsidiary ledger.
    • Upon receipt of student contracts, monitor and ensure accuracy of name, grade, year, gross tuition and any discounts/financial aid figures during “enrollment season” and throughout the year.
    • Respond to billing, payment, and balance inquiries from families
    • Work with the Enrollment and Student Record Coordinator during the enrollment/re-enrollment process
    • Assist with communications with incoming and returning families pertaining to upcoming school year
    • Monitor and Process payments (prepare bank deposits as needed)
    • Perform payment reconciliations
    • Maintain electronic financial documents and records

    Financial Aid: Assist Manager of Financial Aid with the following Tasks:
    • Process applications and supporting materials
    • Prepare files for Financial Aid Committee
    • Schedule and hold Family Interviews
    • Enter awards and send decision letters

  • Stage – Service Communication

    The Communications Team plays an essential role at the Lycée Français de New York,  a world-renowned bilingual French and American Nursery-to-12 school, as the engine for advancement of the Lycée’s mission and brand to our immediate community, to prospective families and employees, and other external stakeholders essential to the school. Working collaboratively with the Pedagogical, Admissions, Cultural Center, and Development Teams across the school, the Communications Team creates strategies that include key messages, content, stories and visuals, to drive interest in school life and foster a sense of community for all. 
     
    An internship with the Lycée Communications Team is a terrific opportunity for a highly motivated graduate student to gain experience in many areas of communication, including newsletter writing, storytelling, content marketing, and digital media in a bilingual, international environment. The intern will make a genuine contribution to a key educational and cultural institution in New York City.
     
    Responsibilities
    Working collaboratively with the Communications Team, as well as with teachers and our dedicated Cultural Center, the intern will:
    • Assist with creation of the school's weekly newsletter in English and French
    • Review English-to-French translations to make sure content is accurate, grammatically correct and in fitting with its original intent.
    • Organize the school's photo database to ensure all content is accurately labeled and up to date with latest photos
    • Take photos and tell stories of classroom activities and events on the school's social media feeds
    • Track social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns
    • Support Cultural Center and Events teams in English and in French at live and online in-school events 
    • Other duties, as assigned.
    Education
    A French-speaking student currently pursuing a master's degree in humanities, social sciences, English, communications and/or marketing. A focus on communications, digital/social media marketing is preferred.

    Skills
    • Impeccable communications skills--fluent spoken and written French and English, with exceptional writing ability, including storytelling, summarizing information, and adapting tone for different platforms..
    • Photo and/or video editing skills, especially those that support lively, fun engagement on social media feeds.
    • Comfort in interacting with teachers, staff and students of all ages to support strong storytelling across the school.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and interest in social media, with a focus on Instagram, and Facebook.
    • Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines.
    • Familiarity with content creation tools such as iMovie, CapCut and Canva
    • Sound judgment and excellent attention to detail in both written and visual content.
     
    This internship is six to nine months, beginning on or about September 15, 2025. Intern will work 37.5 hours a week at $20/hr, with the majority of work hours spent on the Lycée's campus. This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime pay. Depending on the schedule of events, some of this work may take place in the evening or on weekends. Interns have the opportunity to work one day a week at home, which must be decided with their supervisor the week before.

    For the 2024-2025 school year, we have an opening for a full time Assistant in Primary. Unless otherwise specified all duties for this position are performed in person, on campus, Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm. The work schedule is based on students' schedule and may be adjusted from time to time by the Lycée in accordance with its needs.
     
    The ideal candidate has experience working with primary school-aged children, has some level of proficiency in French and English, and has worked with a teaching team.  The job consists of following all core expectations set by the Lycée for in-classroom instructional support staff.

    The assistants' core responsibilities include compliance with the policies and procedures of the Lycée and performance of extracurricular, administrative and student supervision duties of an assistant, including but not limited to:
     
    • Before and after school supervision of students
    • Working in a primary classroom during the day to help the teachers with student supervision including during recess time, material preparation, monitoring the children's health and safety (This may include helping to change soiled clothes following the sanitary protocol in preschool, serving lunch, light cleaning/organizing during the school day, helping during rest time,
    • Help the class to document activities and events (i.e. take pictures or videos) so the teachers could post.
    • Develop technology skills as needed. 
    • Participate in all required training and meetings, including professional development. Working in our preschool program requires additional training that will be organized by the Director of the Preschool.
    • Primary assistants may need to be present for supervision during class time if one of the primary teachers is absent. 
     
    Assistants must be able to fulfill the physical requirements of the position for the scheduled time each day including the necessity to be present at school to supervise and interact with students, the ability to travel around the school facility and the ability to communicate clearly to students and staff. 
     
    Vacations
    School vacation dates are established annually. Assistants must participate in meetings organized immediately before and after the class schedule of the school year. 
     
    Evaluation
    Performance evaluation is conducted periodically under the leadership of the evaluators (assigned homeroom teachers), according to the procedures established by the Lycée. 
     
    Compensation:
    The annual base salary being offered is commensurate with experience, based on our internal salary grid and starts at $42,607.

Ces échanges permettent de découvrir la société et la culture américaines, ainsi que son système éducatif. Ils agissent comme des ambassadeurs de leur pays d'origine, partageant avec leurs collègues et les élèves leur propre culture et leur "savoir faire".

En effet, le programme d'échange de visiteurs du Lycée est une opportunité unique pour nos professeurs étrangers d'affiner leurs compétences professionnelles en expérimentant une nouvelle philosophie éducative et de perfectionner leur connaissance de la langue anglaise.

Une fois le programme terminé et de retour dans leurs pays respectifs, ces professeurs sont en mesure de partager leurs connaissances et expériences nouvellement acquises avec leurs pairs et, ce faisant, de contribuer à promouvoir la compréhension mutuelle entre les habitants des Etats-Unis et ceux de leur pays d'origine.
