    Position Summary
    The Business Office Associate plays a critical role at the intersection of customer service and accounting. This position supports a broad range of financial operations, with an emphasis on student billing, payments, financial aid processing, and reconciliation. The Associate serves as a primary point of contact for families regarding billing and financial inquiries, requiring a strong blend of technical accounting skills and a customer-centered mindset.
    The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced, multicultural environment. They must also demonstrate empathy, discretion, and professionalism in all communications with families and internal departments. Additional hours may be required during peak seasons (e.g., enrollment, year-end closing).
    All employees should truly and enthusiastically believe in the Lycée’s Mission supporting the vision of the Head of School and the Board of Trustees. The Business Office Associate should be a self-starting, resourceful, well organized team player with the ability to work well under pressure, maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate good interpersonal skills.  At the Lycée, “the student is at the center of the system.” All staff members are expected to provide encouragement, offer positive reinforcement, and show respect for each student.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    Duties and Responsibilities of the Business Office Associate include, but are not limited to:

    Billing and Payments
    • Respond to billing, payment, and balance inquiries from families
    • Monitor and Report aging balances monthly and follow up with families as needed 
    • Assist with annual creation and maintenance of charges and discounts in subsidiary ledger.
    • Upon receipt of student contracts, monitor and ensure accuracy of name, grade, year, gross tuition and any discounts/financial aid figures during “enrollment season” and throughout the year.
    • Respond to billing, payment, and balance inquiries from families
    • Work with the Enrollment and Student Record Coordinator during the enrollment/re-enrollment process
    • Assist with communications with incoming and returning families pertaining to upcoming school year
    • Monitor and Process payments (prepare bank deposits as needed)
    • Perform payment reconciliations
    • Maintain electronic financial documents and records

    Financial Aid: Assist Manager of Financial Aid with the following Tasks:
    • Process applications and supporting materials
    • Prepare files for Financial Aid Committee
    • Schedule and hold Family Interviews
    • Enter awards and send decision letters 
     
    Surveys
    • Report Lycée's data into NAIS DASL database
    • Report Lycée's data to US Department of Education (Census)
    • Report Lycée's data to Board of Education
     
    Qualifications and Skills
     
    Education/Experience
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
    • Three years of responsible experience in accounting and/or customer service.

    Skills/Abilities
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to communicate and work effectively in a multicultural community
    • Knowledge of database management concepts

    This individual is a strategic thinker, creative fundraiser, and excellent relationship builder who understands donor engagement, annual fundraising campaigns, and stewardship best practices. They must have a deep understanding of and sensitivity to different cultural approaches to philanthropy in an international and diverse community and be able to educate and engage all members of the community to foster a shared culture of giving. This includes developing strategies to communicate the impact of philanthropy effectively across different audiences and ensuring that fundraising efforts reflect the values and priorities of the Lycée’s community.       • Manage annual open enrollment, leading communication efforts, vendor coordination, and employee education sessions.

      • Develop and maintain user-friendly benefits guides to help employees navigate available leave programs.

    Employee Relations and Engagement:
      • Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, providing guidance on workplace concerns, performance issues, and conflict resolution.
      • Lead the resolution of employee relations matters, including conducting investigations, mediation, and disciplinary actions.
      • Champion employee engagement initiatives, such as recognition programs, well-being and belonging efforts.

    HR policies, procedures and compliance:

      • Assist in the development and implementation of Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) to address performance concerns.
      • Research and recommend professional development opportunities to close skill gaps and enhance career growth.

    Recruitment/Hiring/Onboarding:
      • Oversee and enhance the onboarding experience, ensuring new hires feel welcomed, informed, and set up for success.

      • Support the annual review of orientation and onboarding programs, incorporating feedback for continuous improvement.

    Qualifications and Skills
    Education/Experience
    • A Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred
    • At least 5 years of progressive HR experience, leading benefits administration, employee relations and payroll; 
    Skills/Abilities
    • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
    • Experience managing benefits administration and payroll processes.
    • Proficiency using Google Suite and ADP Workforce Now (or similar HRIS systems).

Le Lycée Français de New York a été désigné comme sponsor du programme d'échange de visiteurs pour les enseignants depuis 1961.

Au cours des cinq dernières décennies, le Lycée a reçu des dizaines d'enseignants étrangers, principalement de France. Ces échanges permettent de découvrir la société et la culture américaines, ainsi que son système éducatif. Ils agissent comme des ambassadeurs de leur pays d'origine, partageant avec leurs collègues et les élèves leur propre culture et leur "savoir faire".

En effet, le programme d'échange de visiteurs du Lycée est une opportunité unique pour nos professeurs étrangers d'affiner leurs compétences professionnelles en expérimentant une nouvelle philosophie éducative et de perfectionner leur connaissance de la langue anglaise.

Une fois le programme terminé et de retour dans leurs pays respectifs, ces professeurs sont en mesure de partager leurs connaissances et expériences nouvellement acquises avec leurs pairs et, ce faisant, de contribuer à promouvoir la compréhension mutuelle entre les habitants des Etats-Unis et ceux de leur pays d'origine.
