As an independent school, the Lycée Français de New York is governed by a Board of Trustees whose work follows the standards of the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS).
Board members volunteer their time and their expertise in support of the school’s mission. They also contribute resources to the Lycée. They receive no compensation and derive no financial benefit from their service.
The Board is responsible for:
- Overseeing the school’s strategic direction and operations
- Recruiting and supporting the Head of School
- Upholding the Lycée’s mission and guiding policies
- Reviewing and maintaining bylaws and policies consistent with NYSAIS standards
- Managing the school’s financial health, including budgets, capital assets, fundraising, and endowment
