    In general, the maintenance staff is responsible for general cleaning, set up areas for meetings and special events, distribute incoming deliveries to the appropriate locations, and participate as an active member of the security and team for the School. To account for certain organizational demands, the maintenance staff must show flexibility in her or his schedule, in order to respond to occasional unexpected circumstances during the day, and if necessary, evening and/or week-end activities (such as meetings, special events and weather emergencies) requiring their presence. Salary: $19/hr.

    For the 2024-2025 academic year, the Lycée Français de New York is looking to hire a dedicated Secondary English Leave Replacement Teacher to join our vibrant school multicultural community from October to December 2024. The ideal candidate:
    • has an MA in English or higher
    • has at least 2 years of experience teaching English in grades 6-12
    • has strong writing and speaking skills
    • is innovative and technology-savvy
    • enjoys collaborating on curriculum and project-based learning
    • is adaptable, flexible and willing to teach several different grades through Middle School and High School
    • has a commitment to equity, inclusion, diversity, and belonging
    • Knowledge of French a plus

    Compensation: 
    • For days with 3 teaching periods or less= $110/period

  • Dean of Student for High School / Conseiller.e Principal.e d'éducation (CPE)

    The Lycée Français de New York, a world-leading independent bilingual French K-12 educational institution, recognizes student safety and student well-being as its first responsibilities. The Dean of Students for High School's primary responsibility is to foster a positive school culture and  atmosphere conducive to learning, and to identify and work to resolve issues pertaining to the well-being of students during their time at school.

    The DoSHS is the leader of the High School Student & Community Life team (Vie Scolaire). The DoSHS organizes the service and supervises the activities of the Grade Coordinators in the High  School. The Lycée Français de New York's DoSHS focuses on students, people, processes, and projects. The DoSHS has a central role in planning prevention programming, leading SEL instruction in the advisory program, and working on developing wellness programming, managing conflicts involving students. He/She acts by favoring dialogue and mediation from an educational perspective. As the leader of the  High School student life team, he/she is ultimately responsible for tracking student attendance, punctuality and respect for the policies in the Student Handbook and the values and norms of our community. 

    The DoSHS reports to the Head of High School. He/She  is a member of the Secondary school leadership team as well as of the Department Coordinators team.

  • Un(e) Assistant(e) de la maternelle - Année scolaire 2024-2025

    For the 2024-2025 academic year, the Lycée Français de New York is looking to hire a full time Assistant in Preschool to join our vibrant school multicultural community. The ideal candidate has experience working with preschool-aged children, has some level of proficiency in French and English, and has worked with a teaching team. Unless otherwise specified all duties for this position are performed in person, on campus, Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm. The work schedule is based on students' schedule and may be adjusted from time to time by the Lycée in accordance with its needs.
     
    The job consists of following all core expectations set by the Lycée for in-classroom instructional support staff.

    The assistants' core responsibilities include compliance with the policies and procedures of the Lycée and performance of extracurricular, administrative and student supervision duties of an assistant, including but not limited to:
    • Before and after school supervision of students
    • Working in a preschool classroom during the day to help the teachers with student supervision including during recess time, material preparation, monitoring the children's health and safety (This may include helping to change soiled clothes following the sanitary protocol in preschool, serving lunch, light cleaning/organizing during the school day, helping during rest time,
    • Help the class to document activities and events (i.e. take pictures or videos) so the teachers could post.
    • Develop technology skills as needed. 
    • Participate in all required training and meetings, including professional development. Working in our preschool program requires additional training that will be organized by the Director of the Preschool.
    • Preschool assistants may need to be present for supervision during class time if one of the preschool teachers is absent. 
    Assistants must be able to fulfill the physical requirements of the position for the scheduled time each day including the necessity to be present at school to supervise and interact with students, the ability to travel around the school facility and the ability to communicate clearly to students and staff. 
     
    Vacations
    School vacation dates are established annually. Assistants must participate in meetings organized immediately before and after the class schedule of the school year. 

    Evaluation
    Performance evaluation is conducted periodically under the leadership of the evaluators (assigned homeroom teachers), according to the procedures established by the Lycée. 
     
    Compensation
    This is a full-time, non-exempt academic position, operating on the Lycée school calendar. The annual base salary being offered is commensurate with experience and starts at $41,459.

Programme d'échange de visiteurs (Visa J1)

Le Lycée Français de New York a été désigné comme sponsor du programme d'échange de visiteurs pour les enseignants depuis 1961.

Au cours des cinq dernières décennies, le Lycée a reçu des dizaines d'enseignants étrangers, principalement de France. Ces échanges permettent de découvrir la société et la culture américaines, ainsi que son système éducatif. Ils agissent comme des ambassadeurs de leur pays d'origine, partageant avec leurs collègues et les élèves leur propre culture et leur "savoir faire".

En effet, le programme d'échange de visiteurs du Lycée est une opportunité unique pour nos professeurs étrangers d'affiner leurs compétences professionnelles en expérimentant une nouvelle philosophie éducative et de perfectionner leur connaissance de la langue anglaise.

Une fois le programme terminé et de retour dans leurs pays respectifs, ces professeurs sont en mesure de partager leurs connaissances et expériences nouvellement acquises avec leurs pairs et, ce faisant, de contribuer à promouvoir la compréhension mutuelle entre les habitants des Etats-Unis et ceux de leur pays d'origine.
