Sports

The Lycée’s focus on sports as an integral part of the school’s curriculum solidified when the school moved into its new home in 2003 and at last had the facilities and mission to include sports as an essential component of its educational core. Today, over 30 teams grace the Lycée roster, including soccer, gymnastics, cross-country and basketball to name but a few. The new building, with its two large gymnasiums and high-end equipment, helped the Lycée gain recognition from the directors of other schools and leagues. But above all, it has been our students’ success that has built and enhanced the Lycée’s reputation as a worthy contender.

True to its promise of blending the best of French and American cultures, the Lycée’s reputation has melded high academic standards with superior extracurricular opportunities to again raise the bar on what an education here can provide. This evolution reinforces our aspiration to remain an institution that holds firmly to its French intellectual tradition but readily adopts the pragmatism and openness of the American system – including embracing sports as a crucial part of the Lycée’s educational mission.

Hundreds of Lycée students of every age reap the physical and emotional benefits of participating in sports on a regular basis.
