Each year, the Lycée Français de New York hosts a spectacular Gala for over 1,000 distinguished guests. The annual Gala is the school’s largest fundraiser which includes a dinner, live and silent auction, student artwork and a student performance. This event is a much anticipated and glamorous evening affair which raises funds to further the school’s educational and cultural initiatives as well as its generous scholarship program.

The Gala honors individuals, whose accomplishments resonate with the Lycée’s community and mission, with the Charles de Ferry de Fontnouvelle Award, named after the school’s founder and French consul general at the time.

Gala 2012 Les Années Folles – Inspiring Minds, Sharing Cultures, celebrated the Roaring 20s, a period of extraordinary cultural exchange between France and the United States and honored renowned French couturier Jean Paul Gaultier for his leadership in the arts. It raised over $2 million for the Lycée.

The Gala is an important fundraiser for the Lycée which brings together the school’s international community, dignitaries, celebrities and artists to celebrate the unique cultural environment and educational programs the Lycée provides its diverse student body.

Friends of the Lycée Français de New York are invited to participate in the event via corporate sponsorships, ticket purchases, donations for the live and silent auctions, advertising in the Gala program and/or scholarship donations. Funds raised at the Gala enables the Lycée to continue to provide an education that both encourages and respects diversity between people and cultures.
