The Internet is changing our lives, our minds…but are we ready? How do we raise our children in this environment? What opportunities does it provide? This theme is the focus of the next debate in our Global Citizenship series, “Internet: How to Navigate the New Era?” on this Thursday, February 23rd at 6:30pm. To help us answer these questions, we welcome our guests – almost all parents and/or alumni of the Lycée and all who have successfully navigated this new economy: Kevin Ryan, President and founder of the online luxury goods retailer, Gilt Groupe; Alexandre Douzet, President and co-founder of TheLadders, the professional recruitment site, and Jonathan Moyal, a Lycée alumnus and founder of Lucky Ant; and Mathieu Nouzareth, president and cofounder of Fresh Planet, an online video game network. The debate will be in English and moderated by Virginie Robert, special correspondent from Les Echos. Reservations at: (212) 439-3820.

The Lycée will host its 13th annual French Theater Festival on March 9th and 10th, 2012 in the school’s auditorium. This year, students will perform original works or excerpts from existing texts on the theme of Les Retrouvailles, or Reunion. All performances are in French. A jury of theater professionals and French teachers will give awards for Best Writing, Best Performance and the Festival’s Grand Prize, among many others. Tickets are free, but you must call to reserve at (212) 439 3820.
March 9th 7pm: Performances for 9th to 12th Grade
March 10th 10am: Performances for 6th to 8th Grade

The Lycée will honor renowned French couturier Jean Paul Gaultier for his inspirational leadership in the arts during its annual Gala at the Park Avenue Armory on March 17, 2012. This year’s Gala celebrates Paris of the 1920s, Les Années Folles – Inspiring Minds, Sharing Cultures, a period of extraordinary cultural exchange between France and the United States. Remy Loumbrozo will direct the Lycée choir with special guests Lulu Gainsbourg and singer, Ayo. Gala 2012 will enable us to continue to provide an education that both encourages and respects diversity between people and cultures.
