Since the school’s doors opened over seven decades ago, the Lycée Français de New York has stood for excellence –defining what a quality education can be and delivering on that promise via thousands of outstanding graduates who began their success at the school.

Continually inspiring future generations is no small task: it requires vision and resources to sustain this commitment. The Lycée Français de New York, like all non-profit independent schools, relies on charitable gifts to support its ongoing operations and priorities. Through a variety of distinct but equally important channels, the school raises the funds required to maintain its position as a leading educational and cultural institution: a place where innovation comes to life and students discover themselves, their potential and the world around them.

Among our foremost fundraising efforts, the Annual Fund provides important support each year to the operating budget, helping to finance day-to-day operations. With contributions given and spent in the current fiscal year, the Annual Fund helps pay for everything from faculty salaries to new curriculum initiatives, from financial assistance programs to technological advancements, from utility expenses to the ever-growing cost of supplies and books. 

Conversely, the Capital Campaign is a special effort to prepare for the future and address significant needs, both near and long-term, that the operating budget cannot meet. Currently, The Campaign for the Future / Préparer l’avenir focuses on scholarships, faculty recruitment and retention, curriculum initiatives, and the cultural center through the form of endowment funds. Donors to the Capital Campaign are encouraged to make their gift decisions with the intent to maintain or increase their Annual Fund support in acknowledgment of our expanding goals and the need associated with sustaining our growth as a leading educational institution.

Every gift to the Lycée has an impact and everyone at the school benefits from your support. Through the generosity provided by alumni, parents, parents of alumni, grandparents, faculty, staff and friends, the school is able to minimize tuition increases and to maintain the Lycée’s standing as one of the finest and most respected schools in the country.
