Son of writers Simone and André Schwarz-Bart, Jacques Schwarz-Bart studied at Sciences Po, but chose music instead. A New York based jazz saxophonist, dubbed “Brother Jacques”, he is well known on the music scene. In Racines Haiti, which was performed at the music festival Banlieues Bleues, Schwarz-Bart mixes rhythms from Guadeloupe and Haiti. On stage there are 7 musicians, 2 modern voodoo priests and 5 jazz musicians.
