Seeking the best possible opportunities for one’s children starts with education. Parents are attracted to the Lycée Français de New York because it combines the best of French and American education. Our outstanding faculty personifies French academic excellence while English academic standards are to those of New York’s best private schools. Lycée parents value our teachers’ dedication and commitment to their children and the caring and support we give them every day to help them develop their full potential.
Lycée families value the balance between academic excellence and the social and emotional well-being of their children the school offers, as it helps all students become well-rounded citizens of the world.
With over 50 nationalities represented, Lycée parents form a multicultural and vibrant community that takes pride in its diversity. It is a caring, cohesive group that excels at welcoming and integrating new families. The school welcomes parents’ involvement and values the wealth of experience they bring – both on an individual level and as participants in the Parents Association (APL).
An influential and recognized voice at the Lycée, the APL works closely with the school’s administration, faculty and board to keep this academic institution at the forefront among New York’s private schools. All parents are automatically members of the APL, which acts as an open forum in which every voice is heard. It is a well-structured and active organization that offers many opportunities for hands-on participation in the school’s life.
Whether you are English or French speaking, there are plenty of opportunities to get together socially and interact – or volunteer – with other parents at any of the numerous events that the school and the APL organize, be it conferences, cocktails, sports events or fairs, as well as movie screenings, concerts and lectures that are part of the Lycée’s cultural program.
We invite you to contact our APL co-chairs, Anne Dulout and Corina Stonebanks at at APLinfo@lfny.org to learn more about the APL and why parents love the Lycée!
