Our diverse, vibrant and committed school community is one of the great strengths of the Lycée Français de New York.
Our student body is made up of over 1,350 students from all over the world. Our parent community is similarly diverse, as is our faculty and staff. Students and adults at the Lycée Français de New York are drawn from over 50 nationalities and a wide variety of ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds. We work together harmoniously and productively, respecting each individual’s culture and collectively creating a school culture unique to the Lycée.
Parents work tirelessly to make the Lycée Français de New York an exciting and innovative place to learn, whether by volunteering in the Parent Association, speaking at conferences and assemblies, welcoming tenth grade interns into their businesses, volunteering for career night, or working for our Gala, Fall Festival, Skating Party and other events. Alumni are an increasingly vital force in the school, lending their experience and expertise to a variety of our events and counseling our high school students on how to navigate post-secondary education.
Our administration and Board of Trustees lead the school with passion and a vision deeply rooted in the school’s three-part mission to promote academic excellence, ensure the emotional, psychological and physical well-being of each student, and prepare them for 21st century citizenship.
The center of our community, however, is always our students. Every adult at the Lycée works for the students’ sake and is deeply committed to their academic and personal success. The ’family‘ of the Lycée Français de New Yorkworks first and foremost to ensure each student’s safety and development. The skill, growth, and achievement of our graduates can be directly traced to the engagement of our school community.
