Admissions

The Lycée Français de New York qualifies and enrolls more than 200 new students every year from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade, subject to availability of space. The school admits students from all walks of life and prides itself on the extraordinary diversity of its student body; it does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, religion or national origin.

The Lycée Français de New York’s academic excellence, diversity, and renowned bilingual curriculum, which offers an attractive alternative to standard American private schools, has made it an increasingly popular choice in recent years. Consequently, admission is competitive, and each year the school must deny admission to many bright, talented applicants whom we would very much like to welcome if we had the space to do so.

All prospective parents and students are encouraged to visit and get to know the school, its environment, programs and curriculum through our informative ‘open house’ visits. The Lycée offers three open house sessions in the fall for the Early Childhood Program (‘l’école maternelle’), which includes Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten levels. Parents applying to start their child in this program the following fall are encouraged to attend these open houses, as they give a unique opportunity to visit the classrooms and meet the teachers – and to ascertain if a Lycée education ‘fits’ both the student and his or her family. For the upper grades, we do not offer open houses, since space is very limited. However, group tours can be organized by calling in advance or by sending an email inquiry to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
